Overview
Kusum Kangru peak of 6367 meter height is regarded as trekking peak in Khumbu region. But the peak is little technical than other trekking peaks. This peak was first climbed in 1979 AD by Japanese mountaineers and still is less climbed as compared to other peak in the region. The peak stands to east of Dudh Koshi River and west of the Hinku valley. There are three summits of this mountain therefore the name means “three snow gods” in local sherpa dialects.
To climb this peak, we take scenic flight to Lukla, gateway to khumbu region. then trek for 5 days to reach it’s base camp via Zatra Wa la pass. After the successful climb, we can either retrace the same way back or move forward to Tesi Lapcha pass and back to Lukla.
