Overview

Trek deeper into the Himalayan amphitheater of Annapurna Sanctuary and the climb an enthralling Tharpu Chuli also called the Tent Peak. Tent peak is one of the beautiful trekking peaks in the Annapurna region that stands tall deeper into the Annapurna sanctuary.
One of the climbing peaks that stand lower than 6,000 meters in elevation from the sea level, Tent peak attracts many adventure climbing aspirants every year. Seasoned and amateur climbers both attempt the peak equally. Seasoned climbers climb this peak as part of their acclimatizing climb while attempting higher mountain expedition. And for the amateur climbers, Tent peak brings an incredible experience of peak climbing. Although the peak involves fewer technicalities, it requires some climbing equipment to climb the summit. Because of its central location in the Annapurna Sanctuary, the peak provides fascinating views of the mountains, glaciers, and glacial moraine in the region. It is the best vantage point of the Annapurna Sanctuary and makes the moment of life time for the climbing adventurers.

Day 1 :

Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal! Ramdung representative will meet you at the airport and bring you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You can take a rest or if you are arriving earlier, can visit around the city. In the evening we will hold a briefing session regarding your trip and get to know your Nepali trekking companion. We’ll be happy to answer any question you may have. O/N Hotel.

Day 2 :

Day 02- Sightseeing trip / Trek preparation

Kathmandu valley is has fantastic UNESCO world heritages all around. Today after the breakfast, you’ll be visiting Boudhanath Stupa (the largest Buddhist shrines in the world), Pashupatinath (the holiest Hindu temple in the world), Durbar Squares (Palaces and fortresses of medieval Kings). The lifestyle of the Nepalese people, holy sadhus and monks, the fascinating history and the awe-inspiring architecture will be the highlight of this day. Day 3 :

Day 03 - Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara to Nayapul

At around 7am you’ll leave Kathmandu to reach Pokhara through green valley, Trisuli River along side and scattered villages. Before reaching Pokhara. We change our vehicle to reach Nayapul. You are advised to get some good sleep to begin trekking next day. O/N Hotel (B).

Day 4 :

Day 04 – Nayapul to Ghandruk (1950m): 4-5 hrs

From Nayapul we start walking uphill and having fantastic views of Annapurnas. From Birethanti, we turn right after crossing the Modi river and aim to reach Ghandruk about 4-5 hours steep hill trial. Where there are good views of Machhapuchre and Annapurna South for our rights stop in this pretty village. O/N community lodge (BLD).

Day 5 :

Day 05 - Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2170m): 6hrs

We climb up for an hour up to Ghandrukkot and then a steep descent takes us to the Kimron Khola. After another steep ascent from Kimron Khola, we make an hour of easy walk. Then we take a steep climb continuing up to Chhomrong. Towering above the village is the mighty peak of Annapurna South, with the Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhare) facing it across the valley. Chhomrong is a beautiful village located on the lap of giant Annapurna massive. O/N Tea House (BLD).

Day 6 :

Day 06 – Chhomrong to Dobhan (2600m): 6hrs

We head out of Chhomrong along the Modi Khola leaving behind inhabited foothills into the high step and wooded slopes of Himalayas. We cross the suspension bridge then trek up to Sinuwa Danda. The ascent from Sinuwa becomes somewhat flatter. The trail passes through thick & dark rhododendron forest up to Khuldighar. Then we descend a long and steep stone steps into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests. Pass through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Doban. O/N Teahouse (BLD).

Day 7 :

Day 07 – Dobhan to Deurali (3230m): 2 hrs

We walk along to Modi Khola. We pass through Himalaya hotel and hinku cave before reaching Deurali. Today is short trip but the way is prone to avalanche. O/N Teahouse (BLD).

Day 8 :

Day 08 – Deurali to Machhapuchre Base camp (3700m): 4hrs

The hike to MBC is somewhat strenuous but the unfolding views of the majestic Machhapuchre are certainly a rewarding experience. Enjoy the views of Mount Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and, of course, the Fishtail or Machhapuchhare itself. O/N Tea house (BLD).

Day 9 :

Day 09 -Acclimatization and climbing preparation

Your guide will brief you about the climb, climbing techniques and all. This training we hope will boost your confidence and climbing skills. O/N teahouse (BLD).

Day 10 :

Day 10 – Machhapuchre BC to Cave camp (4250m): 5-6 hrs

We again walk along Modi khola. We see South Annapurna glacier to our right. The trail from glacier leads to base camp of Annapurna South. We move straight ahead and cross bridge to reach cave camp.

Day 11 :

Day 11 – Cave camp to high camp High Camp (5200m): 5 hrs

Today, we make a steep ascent to the Tent Peak High Camp. Enjoy the panoramic views of Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna South (7229m), Annapurna I (8091m), Fishtail Mountain, and other snow-capped high mountains. Climb the hill to a glacial bowl. After setting up the high camp, we spend the remainder of the day discovering and making preparations. Camping (BLD).

Day 12 :

Day 12 – Summit Tent peak (Tharpu Chulu), high Camp: 8-9 hrs

Around midnight, we get ready for the final push. Cross the short glacier to reach the base of several snow flutings. Climb fixed ropes to the final summit ridge. As we get nearer the summit, a sharp top of Tent Peak (5663m / 18,580 ft) unfolds. After summiting, we return by the same route to the high camp. Camping (BLD).

Day 13 :

Day 13 – High camp to Machapuchhre Base camp: 5hrs

We descend to Tent Peak base camp and further to Machapuchhre Base Camp, we take our lunch and relax. O/N teahouse (BLD).

Day 14 :

Day 14 – Machapuchhre BC to Bamboo (2310m): 6 hrs

We start descending from MBC to Deurali, Doban and finally to Bamboo. Heading back down to the valley is much easier than climbing up. You will see the waterfalls that drop down from a high point to the rocks belows. Pass thorugh the forests with great views of Fishtail and Hiunchuli mountains. O/N teahouse (BLD).

Day 15 :

Day 15 – Bamboo to Jhinu dada (1760m): 6hrs

From Bamboo we make a steep ascent to the Kuldi Ghar and then to Sinuwa. Follow the stone steps that leads to Lower Chomrong. Then ascend on the thousand stony steps taking us to Upper Chomrong. From Chomrong we descend to Jhinu Danda. We get opportunity to enjoy hot springs lying just a 15-min walk from Jhinu Danda. O/N teahouse (BLD).

Day 16 :

Day 16 - Jhinu Dada to Naya Pul, Drive to Pokhara

Trek from Jhinu danda to New bridge and then to Kyumi village. After lunch we trek to Syauli bazar and then down to Birethanti. From Birethanti, about an hour's trek and we arrive at Naya Pul. The trek ends at Naya Pul. From Naya Pul we take a vehicle and reach Pokhara in about an hour. O/N hotel (BLD).

Day 17 :

Day 17 – Drive Pokhara to Kathmandu

It takes 7hrs long drive along Trisuli river and various settlements to get back to Kathmandu. You can spend time resting/buying souvenirs back to home. In the evening, we will host farewell dinner in traditional restaurant with cultural dance performances in celebration of your amazing trip. O/N Hotel (BD).

Day 18 :

Day 18 - Trip ends. Farewell and Departure

The journey in the mountains of Nepal comes to an end today ! At last approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from Ramdung Expedition will drop you to the airport. (B).
