Overview
Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek is moderate rated trek to have in Nepal and is easily accessible from Kathmandu. This trek offers many splendid Buddhist monastery visit, Rhododendron forest (March/April), superb mountain views, picturesque Sherpa settlements and villages, friendly people. People in these are call themselves Sherpa’s but their relationship with the Sherpa of Solu Khumbu is distant as dialects spoken & culture followed of here are different from other region.
We drive to Syabrubesi and start walking as trail passes through less visited ethnic group settlement, lush forest and historic Buddhist settlement of Kyanjin Gompa. There is hike from Kyanjin Gompa to Tserko ri at 5000m, which is highest point of the trek. Another prominent place we visit is Gosainkunda lake, watching the sun rising over multitude of glistening lakes of sacred hindu pilgrimage site. It is believed that this lake was created by Lord shiva. We cross Laurebina la pass of 4609m and trek down to beautiful village of Tarkegyang and Sermanthang before heading back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary
Welcome to Nepal! Ramdung Expedition representative will meet you at the airport and bring you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You can take a rest or if you are arriving earlier, can visit around the city.
In the evening we will hold a briefing session regarding your trip and get to know your Nepali trekking companion. We’ll be happy to answer any question you may have. O/N Hotel.
After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we descent down to Syabrubesi. O/N Lodge (BLD)
This is our first day of trekking today. Follow the Langtang Khola or River. Pass through the dense forests. Cross several suspension bridges. We also pass by a Paira Lodge, Rimche The trail goes up and down but it's not that challenging. O/N Lodge (BLD)
After taking morning tea, we embark our second day of the journey. Our trail continues along dense forest of oak rhododendron, hamlock and maple. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. Pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. O/N Lodge (BLD)
We get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures. Also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind. Cross several of the wooden bridges. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes, you might start feeling the thin air. Gompa. Kanjin Gompa is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Early morning we visit to Tserko Ri 5000m for mountain sunrise views. We see spectacular view of Langtang Himalayan and phenomenal panoramas of Langtang lirung, Ghyanghempo, Langshisa ri, Ganja la and Nayakang. Then we return back to Kyanjin Gompa. O/N Lodge (BLD)
After breakfast, proceed to Lama Hotel. Since, its mostly downhill, it is 4/ 5 hours walk from Kanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way down hill through forest following the river. Pass through the ethnic Tamang settlements who follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans. O/N Lodge (BLD)
It takes about five hours. Your trek descends gently to Rimche throught bamboo then ascends to the landslide area then reach to Ghopche Khola and descends gradually along side the ridge on Syabru’s Main street. In route you could see red pandas, wild monkeys and bear if you are lucky. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Today you trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing gompa and it takes about 4-5 hours. The trail from Syabru gaon to Foprang Danda (3200m.) follows steeply ascent path passing through Dursagang (2660m.) along with the view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Mountain and oak, Hemlock, firs forests. Now the path gently ascends for some distance and then follows flat level to Sing Gompa which is popular place for Cheese. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Which takes about five and half hours trekking .. You follow a rugged trail with dramatic views; to the west lie Himal Chuli (7893m.,) Manaslu (8156m,) and Ganesh Himal (7406m.) On a clear day, even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung. You pass a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebina, cross a small ridge and have your first views of the holy lakes. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikund, Bharab Kunda and Gosainkunda. According to legend, Gosainkunda was created by Shiva . O/N lodge (BLD)
The trail today is most of climbing and is bit challenging. We walk in rough and crosses moraines. The trail along with three small lakes then ascent to Laurebina la (4609m) then we walk down to phedi continue little up and down walking through pine, rhodonendron trek hill will bring us to Gopte. Morning breakfast fuels us for long trekking. We start down hill walk through forested area and climb to dry river bed arriving at Kharka, which is surrounded by rhododendron forest. With some little climb through forest we reach Tharepati. We view marvelous view of Jugal himal just above ridge of Tharepati. We then cross river and enter forest area then descend to melamchi river and climbing for some time brings to melamchi gaon. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Today we enter to Helambu region which is cultural destination. You enjoy Sherpa culture over here and visit in sight villages and monasteries. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Since, we do not gain altitude that much today, it's going to be comparatively easy walk today. We forests, streams, and waterfalls. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the Sherpa village of Gangyul. From Gangyul, we arrive at Sermathang. Discover the village. There is also a Buddhist monastery at the highest point of the village. O/N Lodge (BLD)
On our final day of the trek, we walk down to Malemchi Pul Bazaar. The village is mostly inhabited by the Sherpa, but there are also people of other ethnicities. From the Bazaar, we return to Kathmandu catching up bus/jeep. You can spend time resting/buying souvenirs back to home. In the evening, we will host farewell dinner in traditional restaurant with cultural dance performances in celebration of your amazing trip. O/N Hotel (BLD)
The journey in the mountains of Nepal comes to an end today ! At last approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from Ramdung Expedition will drop you to the airport. (B)

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.
The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.
Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.
Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
